Urban Discovery is one of my favorite companies in Hong Kong, just because what they do lies so close to my own interests as well. They combine some of my favorite topics like architecture, heritage, love for the city and education and mix all those things in very cool educative tools like food-walks, heritage-walks, apps, products etc.
I made a logo for them that is flexible and that covers the broad range of things UD is busy with. The logo is ‘map’ of Urban Discovery: every single product or service, has a different route through the knowledge and creativity of the company. Like it;-)?
Nice to do some web design again;-) It’s for a group of joined protestant churches in Netherlands that want to stimulate their members to act on their beliefs and to ‘walk the talk’. The design therefore doesn’t have a lot of words on the main page;-). The shadow of the person who is walking (acting) becomes a light beam in the different situations that are portrayed in the pictures. To bring light and hope to others is the biggest difference we can make with our lives.
This fresh leafy pattern I designed for the backside of a business card, is all I can show you from a nice project I finished last week. Because my client is a very careful entrepreneur I can’t share more, but I hope this little ‘paper garden’ brightens your day;-)
Yesterday I received some pictures from a primary school I did a project for. I designed the logo for them and this week they unveiled it during a big party with the kids and teachers. The name of the school means Morning Star. I tried to work with the concept of reflection of light and how different colors (qualities) become visible when you bring someone into the light. The sentence on the sign says: ‘The world is waiting for you’. A great slogan to start the new (school) year with!
This summer I worked with a very committed and creative urban architect who started his own firm 4 months ago. I liked the process as much as the result; for I’m not used to receiving sketches back after I’ve sent drafts of my idea’s;-).
The constructed environment around us is influencing us every day. The logo is like a wall with a window that communicates different needs of different people. I really like how this logo works in combination with pictures. In the temporary website you can see how we put different images behind the logo in a slide show, to add a 3D experience. The silhouettes become part of the spaces that are photographed: www.senseconceptdesign.com
